Our staff are working tirelessly in challenging conditions to support our residents (and each other) through the Coronavirus crisis. Kaz manages accommodation services for homeless people, including our winter shelter. She took some time out of her day to answer some questions.
How has the Coronavirus impacted on you?
As well as working for Framework I’m also a foster carer, and the Coronavirus has impacted lots of families within the care system. Children might not see family members for months which can be really hard for them emotionally and due to limited contact with social workers (no face to face) it’s been incredibly difficult for lots of people and support agencies. My family have been okay and we’re all trying to get through this as best we can.
How has the Coronavirus impacted your work?
The winter night shelter was very vulnerable due to the nature of coronavirus spreading amongst groups of vulnerable people and we definitely had some challenges to face. My staff from all my services have been incredible and they make me very proud to work for Framework. People have pulled together and I’ve seen lots of support from every level and department within Framework and I’m in awe of this organisation’s resilience.
What have you done in response?
I personally have also been supporting animal rescues and have been helping the elderly outside of work due to there being such limited resources in those areas.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I just really want everyone to keep safe.
