Good times that change lives

Beat The Streets

I am filled with pride and gratitude as I reflect on the success of 2023’s Beat The Streets festival.

The award-winning event organised by DHP Family brought together over 3,000 music lovers to enjoy 67 acts across eight stages on Sunday 29 January 2023. They were united in our mission to tackle homelessness and disadvantage. And I’m thrilled to announce that Beat the Streets 2023 has raised a staggering £89,500 for Framework, significantly up from last year’s total of £76,000!

Since the launch of Beat the Streets in 2018, the total of funds raised has now exceeded £400,000. It’s an astonishing milestone.

Beat the Streets 2023

This accomplishment is a testament to the generosity of our community. From the staff at DHP Family to all the incredible artists who give their time and talent, and to everyone who bought tickets. Together we’ve made a tangible difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness and all the issues that accompany it.

More than 300 individuals have received support that is fully or partly funded through Beat the Streets. This has ranged from providing emergency shelter, urgent health assessments and time in specialist supported housing, through to resettlement plans and permanent homes with personalised support.

The funds raised from this year’s festival will go towards eight new self-contained flats for rough sleepers. We will be able to provide a permanent home with personalised support which empowers each resident to live independently – including help with drug and alcohol dependency, mental health support and employment guidance.

This integrated approach aims to set people up for success and prevent them from falling back into the cycle of repeated homelessness and other complex needs.

The support shown by DHP Family, the musicians and the audiences is remarkable. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to them all.

The success of Beat the Streets goes beyond the funds raised. It has inspired other partners to join our collective effort, amplifying the scope and effectiveness of responses to homelessness and rough sleeping. We’ve even gained some new colleagues whose inspiration came from it.

Please support our work and make a donation today.
