Relationship breakdowns led to sleeping rough

Sarah* from Boston resumed a relationship with an ex-partner in 2019 but this didn’t end well and she was left on her own. Struggling to pay the bills she moved in with a couple but was treated badly. With nowhere else to go (Sarah has lost touch with her daughter and has no other family) she slept rough for a few months.

Framework first supported Sarah at our South Terrace hostel in Boston and she is now living in a new flat as part of the Rough Sleepers’ Accommodation Service where she has space and her own garden.

“Having a garden means everything to me: I keep my back door open all day and am constantly in and out. I’m growing plants and love having friends over for a barbecue. This space has allowed me to rebuild relationships with the friends who are my family.

“Framework have made a big difference to my life. Aside from getting me my flat I have regular visits from support workers who help pay my bills and go through my letters with me.

“I’m looking forward to the future now. I’ve enrolled on Framework’s Skills Plus courses and they are helping me look for work. In the meantime, I have been volunteering at a local charity shop.”
