Just before 3.00pm this Saturday, 10th April 2021, Framework history will be made, and a long-held dream among Nottingham Forest-supporting Framework staff, volunteers and supporters will become reality.
That will be the moment when the first team players of Nottingham Forest football club take to the field at Ashton Gate, Bristol for their match against Bristol City wearing shirts carrying the Framework logo.
This one-off occasion will be a historic moment for Framework however it is also of some significance for this famous old club: despite its many moments of greatness, including most notably winning back-to-back European Cups in 1979 and 1980, this will be the first occasion on which any charity other than a gambling-related charity has been represented on the team’s matchday shirts.
We greatly appreciate the strength of our relationship with Nottingham Forest and the support we receive from the club and its thousands of loyal supporters. Together they provide an unparalleled opportunity to raise awareness of homelessness, as well as the work we do to tackle it.
Under the ownership of Greek shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis, Nottingham Forest has forged new links with the community, and support for Framework has been at the forefront of that initiative, not least as the Club’s charity partner for the 2018/19 season.
Support has continued, most recently with participation in Framework’s Homeless to Home challenge which formed part of our recent winter appeal.
When Nottingham Forest unfortunately lost its shirt sponsor a few weeks ago the Club were keen to use the opportunity to feature Framework on the shirts, with encouragement, though none was needed, from many supporters on social media.
The Club’s enthusiasm, combined with the vision of Forest’s new front-of-shirt sponsor BOXT *, and their Founder and CEO Andy Kerr, has now made supporters’ dreams a reality.
For BOXT to donate the shirt fronts – the Club’s most valuable marketing asset – for one of just eight remaining matches this season is outstandingly generous; however the remarkable advertising and promotional support now being offered by BOXT and Nottingham Forest goes much further.
Until the end of the season a massive banner carrying the Framework logo will cover seats in the Brian Clough stand at the City Ground – at 13 metres wide by 8 metres high this will easily be the largest Framework logo ever seen. The logo will also appear on the LED display running round the touch line and on the media backdrop behind interviewees during post-match TV interviews.
These advertising and promotional opportunities donated by BOXT have taken Nottingham Forest’s support for Framework to a new level and we say a very appreciative “Thank You” to all involved.
Tomorrow’s match is live on pay-per-view via Forest TV on the Club’s website nottinghamforest.co.uk . Sky Sports channels will show brief post-match highlights, with fuller highlights on Quest (ch 144) at 9.00pm on Saturday, as well as a two minutes highlights package via Forest channels on Sunday morning.
* BOXT, who signed a deal to become Forest’s front-of-shirt sponsor last week, offer a unique digital solution to home boiler buying and installation. Forest fans – and Framework supporters – can receive a £50 discount off a new boiler by using the special code FORESTFAN50 at www.boxt.co.uk
