Celebrating Framework’s 25th anniversary

Claire Eden, Head of Fundraising and Communications

In 2001, Macedon and Nottingham Help the Homeless came together to form Framework. This year, we are proud to celebrate 25 years of supporting people experiencing homelessness, vulnerable housing and social exclusion across our region.  Throughout 2026, we will be marking this milestone with creative projects and events that honour the people, communities and staff who have shaped Framework’s story.

A touring exhibition

Our flagship anniversary event will launch on World Homeless Day, 10 October 2026, and tour venues across the East Midlands including Southwell Minster and the Chapter House of Lincoln Cathedral.

“From Trauma to Hope to Independence: Real Stories from Framework’s community” is Framework’s powerful new exhibition created in partnership with three Nottingham based artists. At its heart are the voices of people with lived experience of homelessness and the frontline staff who walk alongside them through crisis, recovery and change.

Led by commissioned artist Beatrice Giaquinto, the project begins with trauma informed workshops in which participants choose what they want to share through audio, film, spoken word, visual art and poetry. As the work develops, Beatrice will weave these contributions into a large-scale sculptural installation exploring shared themes, emotions and moments of transformation. Listening booths, video testimony, creative responses and contextual displays will help visitors connect deeply with the realities of homelessness, the complexity of rebuilding stability, and the resilience involved in supporting others through turbulent times.

This exhibition aims to create meaningful opportunities for co-production between our staff and service users. We also hope it will deepen public understanding of homelessness through real lived experience rather than stereotype or assumption.

The Community Quilt: stitching 25 years of impact

Alongside the exhibition, we are inviting everyone to take part in the Framework Community Quilt, a collaborative artwork celebrating 25 years of community support.

Each quilt panel is created by a different person or group including service users, staff, supporters, families, schools and organisations. Individually, every panel tells its own story. Together, they form a warm and hopeful symbol of connection, safety and shared humanity. For people who have experienced the cold, isolation and insecurity of rough sleeping, the quilt is a powerful visual metaphor for the warmth and dignity everyone deserves.

These projects are not focused on hardship, but on collective care, shared humanity and the 25 years of support that defines the Framework community. Stay tuned for updates on the anniversary and our exhibition via our website and social media!
