Community Network Events: Connect, Learn, Support
Framework launched its Community Network events last year to bring together supporters, community groups, and organisations who share a passion for tackling homelessness and social disadvantage.

These quarterly events at the Portland Centre in Nottingham are all about:
- Connecting – bringing the community together
- Learning – shining a spotlight on Framework services and hearing from the Fundraising team about upcoming events and campaigns
- Supporting – celebrating the generosity of individuals, groups, and organisations who make our work possible
Highlights so far
Our first three events have already brought people together to share stories, celebrate generosity, and highlight the impact of Framework’s services.
October 2024 – Our debut event!
Our very first Community Network event featured guest speaker Andy Coxon, Manager of Aidan House, our women’s complex needs service. Andy shared the challenges faced by women experiencing multiple disadvantage and how Framework provides safety, support, and hope.
We were also joined by the Nottingham Soroptimists, longstanding champions of Aidan House, who presented a donation and spoke about their incredible support for women in need.
January 2025 – Volunteering at Framework
This event spotlighted the vital role of volunteers. Omied Hallam from Framework’s volunteering team spoke about opportunities to get involved, and was joined by Emma, who shared their powerful personal journey. Emma began as a volunteer, successfully completed our Volunteer Pathway programme — a route to employment — and is now a valued member of the volunteering team. Their story brought to life how volunteering can be a true pathway to positive change.
May 2025 – Spotlight on The Level
Our third event featured Sarah Hill, Therapy Team Leader at The Level, Framework’s in-patient detox unit. Sarah explained the crucial role the service plays in supporting people with substance use issues to take the first steps in recovery.
A highlight of the evening was hearing from David, a former service user now employed by Framework, who gave a raw and moving account of his recovery journey. We also welcomed the Saturday Singers, who presented a £500 donation in support of our work.

What’s next?
Our next event will take place on Friday 14 November at the Portland Centre, Nottingham.
The guest speaker will be Laura Bellamy, Service Manager of Grove House, Framework’s brand-new, all-female housing service. Grove House provides 15 self-contained flats for women who have experienced homelessness or trauma, offering a safe, supportive environment to rebuild their lives.
