Beat The Streets Raises Over Half A Million Pounds

Jade White

Beat The Streets, the music festival hosted by DHP Family in support of Framework, has raised over £500,000 since its inspiring launch back in 2018. Held at the end of every January at multiple live music venues across Nottingham, this beloved music festival has done more than just warm up the coldest month of the year – it’s helped change lives for those experiencing homelessness.

Over the years, the festival has welcomed an impressive lineup of artists, including Sleaford Mods, Jake Bugg, JayaHadaDream, Evil Scarecrow, and ALT BLK ERA, just to name a few. This year marks a milestone as the festival has raised an astonishing grand total of £554,155 for Framework over the years, proving how music and community can be a powerful force for social change.

Staff from both Framework Charity and DHP Family gathered on the steps of Rock City last week at a special cheque presentation to celebrate this monumental achievement.

The funds raised through ticket sales, bar revenue, tombola draws, and merchandise have gone directly towards providing a real difference to the lives of those experiencing homelessness. Thanks to these fantastic efforts, the festival has helped provide emergency accommodation during the winter, specialist outreach staff offering frontline support, and most notably, the construction of Akins House – a transformative block of flats named after George and Sean Akins (the directors of DHP Family) which is now home to 8 former rough sleepers.

Beat The Streets is an award-winning event that has quickly become a much-loved musical institution. Everyone at Framework is immensely grateful for the generous support of George Akins and his ever-enthusiastic colleagues at DHP Family.
