Registration is now open for Framework’s first ever video gaming fundraising event.
Level Up, taking place from 1-30 April, is a sponsored fundraising challenge supporting our campaign to end digital exclusion among young homeless people.
We are asking for help from video gamers to raise at least £25,000 to give more than 1,000 young homeless people access to wi-fi, as well as digital technology including smart phones, tablets, laptops, and games consoles and gaming equipment for their accommodation.
We are most grateful to our friends at Nottingham Building Society for getting our fundraising started with a spectacular £10,000 donation to challenge the public to get involved: The Nottingham’s donation will fund wi-fi for all Framework’s residential services supporting young people for a year.
Framework provides accommodation and support to homeless and vulnerable young people aged 16-24 at services across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire.
The homeless young people we house and support need help in very many ways – including access to IT. The idea behind Level Up is to level the digital playing field for the young people we support.
Just like the rest of us, access to IT has become even more vital for our young people during the pandemic: it enables their online learning, applying for housing, setting up a bank account, claiming benefits or applying for a job. And, like the rest of us, it helps with relaxing and chilling out – playing favourite games on their chosen console.
We hope that gamers worldwide will rally to support this important cause which will give homeless young people a better chance to make their way in the world and enjoy life.
Registration via the button below is free to people of all ages, however you need to be over 18 years old to register in person: people under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign up on their behalf.
Level Up is open to teams and individuals and you can take the challenge in whatever way you fancy. All that is required is to decide on a preferred format, sign up, and start fundraising. From the sign up button below you will find comprehensive step-by-step instructions, tips and advice, as well as a link to JustGiving where gamers can create their fundraising page.
