“After I retired, I had time for volunteering and decided that I really wanted to be a part of this Framework service”

Vivien volunteers on reception at The Training Centre in Bulwell, Nottingham. Having worked with Framework for three years, she was presented with a long service award at our volunteer celebration.

“After I retired, I had time for volunteering and decided that I really wanted to be a part of this Framework service. I could see that reception was very busy and I had previous experience so that was a role that I could fit smoothly into.

“Day to day I answer calls as well as greeting clients and visitors. You get the opportunity to meet new people who come into the service and then you sometimes see them later attending courses and they’ve developed and grown.

“I was surprised to hear that I was getting the award, just because the time has gone by so quickly! It’s been nice to see the change in the organisation.

“Framework has grown and is delivering a service helping people to get into employment and that’s what’s really important.”
