Every day we empower people in need to build better, brighter futures. We empower people affected by homelessness, physical and mental ill-health, unemployment and social exclusion.
Behind the scenes, many generous individuals help us to support more people by volunteering their time and talents.
This Volunteers’ Week we say a heartfelt Thank You to our many volunteers and highlight how anyone can become part of this compassionate community that is making a real difference.
“I remember a feeling, not of pride, but achievement; I was just so pleased that I’d made such a difference to someone.”
Kay, Framework Volunteer
Framework’s volunteers help in many ways and their impact is immeasurable. They offer companionship, assist with housing applications and teach essential life skills. They also assist Framework staff in the day-to-day running of our services.
Their dedication and commitment often play a significant role in helping people regain their independence and improve their well-being.
What we offer
We want our volunteers to benefit from their time with us as much as the people who use our services. We provide ongoing training, guidance, and recognition. We assist with child and other care costs, travel and lunch expenses.
Volunteering with Framework means becoming part of a supportive and inclusive family. You’ll have the chance to work alongside like-minded individuals, forming lasting friendships and connections.
“I like working at Framework, I feel so accepted. I do this because I want to give something back to society but the social life is great as well!”
Keith, Framework Volunteer
From volunteer to part of the team
If volunteers are interested in progressing into paid work with Framework, we do all we can to support them.
People like Ron, who first started volunteering with Framework following a recommendation from our Opportunity and Change service.
“Within 6 months of becoming a volunteer, I had the slice of luck that had eluded me during years of unemployment. A role became available and after years of failed applications, armed with transferrable skills and new-found confidence, I successfully secured a job in Framework’s fundraising team”.
Ron, Supporter Engagement and Income Generation Fundraising Officer
Next week we launch our new Volunteer Pathway – a structured programme that provides volunteers with the opportunity to develop skills, gain experience and progress towards paid employment.
