FAMILY MENTOR SERVICE
About
Our Family Mentor service operates in the St Ann’s, Hyson Green and Arboretum wards of Nottingham, supporting parents, children (0-4) and wider families to thrive in our communities.
Adapting to life with a new baby is a challenge, whether you’re a mum or a dad having your first child or your fourth. Our mentors are here to provide friendly support and advice – in 17 different languages – on anything from sleeping to feeding and teething.
Our Family Mentor Team won’t tell you what to do or judge your parenting style, they will sit alongside you and share advice through conversation based on the latest evidence in child development.
They can visit you in your home, or somewhere nearby – wherever you feel comfortable.. They also run free groups and activities such as Story and Rhyme Time, Cook and Play and Baby Massage.

The Family Mentor service is part of Small Steps Big Changes, which is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund’s A Better Start Programme.
