Tackling the root causes of rough sleeping

As the economic consequences of Covid-19 continue to be felt, increasing numbers of people are falling below the poverty line. Thousands more people are experiencing homelessness this year, many of them for the first time.

For instance, in Nottingham our street outreach workers have reported that in the six months to the end of September, 72% of the 512 people they found were sleeping rough for the first time.

People who were already living with financial pressures before the coronavirus pandemic are forced to endure inadequate or unsuitable accommodation, while many others have lost their homes and resorted to sofa surfing.

Framework needs your help more than ever before to continue our work preventing homelessness and tackling the root causes of rough sleeping.

With your support, we can help hundreds of people who are facing the horror and indignity of rough sleeping this winter; sleeping on the streets, in shop doorways, in car parks, garages and sheds.

Your donation can help;

  • Support rough sleepers and other people who are facing homelessness: Our street outreach teams work closely with people on the streets, addressing the problems that led to them becoming homeless in the first place
  • Resettle people into safe and suitable accommodation: We help people to secure suitable accommodation and equip them with the skills they need to live stable and independent lives
  • Build and develop new homes: We are creating new homes for people who are homeless, including Housing First and supported move-on accommodation.
