Invite a Framework Speaker
Are you interested in raising awareness about homelessness and the work of Framework?
Many people make up the Framework workforce and some of the most passionate are part of the Speak Out Team. Speak Out is Framework’s public speaking programme, aimed to inform, engage and entertain groups within the communities we serve.
Talks are offered to groups throughout the year and at any time or place across the East Midlands – each one tailored to fit the needs of our audience.
Talks arranged have recently included schools, faith groups, social clubs, sports meetings and professional organisations. After a talk is requested, the topic is considered and an advocate from the team of devoted speakers is personally matched to the specification of the talk.
Requests for talks have ranged from basic introductions to Framework, to speaking about particular groups of people supported or work taking place across certain geographical areas. Catering for younger children is no problem, as primary schools are visited by Framework’s Mascot and a storyteller. Roofus – a large red house – has a particularly busy social calendar during the Harvest ‘Feeding Futures' campaign, an appeal well supported by schools.
At any level the team are willing to join meetings, attend dinners and engage with members of the public who support the work of Framework already, or are keen to know more about the varied way that local vulnerable people are supported.
Why not invite a Framework Speaker to visit your group?
We have expert, front-line members of staff available to spread the word and address some of the misconceptions that exist about homelessness.
I write to say what a wonderful evening we had at our Bowls Club when Adam Pagett came to talk to us about the work of Framework. The fact that Adam had driven to us from Wakefield, the fact he was such a passionate supporter of your organisation and the fact that he spoke so eloquently about his work and life experiences made for a wonderful evening. We always lay on a free supper and we decided to ask for donations for Framework. The response was exceptional and we raised a further £205 which speaks volumes for the way Adam spoke about homelessness.
