The aim is to encourage churches to act as advocates for local vulnerable people through fundraising events, links with local projects, guest speakers, sermons, services and themed prayers of intercession. Organised and sponsored by 14 Christian charities and church groups, the theme for 2012 is “Breaking Barriers” – challenging prejudice, removing stigma and enabling excluded people to live a more full and fair life.
To coincide with this important nationwide event, this year we are launching Framework Action Week and we hope you will support us by making poverty and homelessness a focus of your church’s activity and worship.
How your church chooses to get involved will depend on what might engage your congregation, examples have included collections, refreshment sales, social suppers, guest speakers, event launches, starting to plan a local Sleep Out and even an old mobile phone amnesty.
