Homelessness prevention services work by offering practical help and support to people who are struggling to cope with problems that could lead to them losing their home.
Homelessness really can happen to anybody, regardless of their age, social background and professional circumstances. Many different issues can lead to somebody losing their home, including:
- Mental health
- Benefit entitlement
- Substance misuse
If is far better for everyone – for individuals and society– if vulnerable people can remain in their own homes.
I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep... I just kept thinking about how I would survive if they took my home from me. I was going to be made homeless because of someone else’s debt and I just didn’t know where to turn. I really can’t thank Framework enough for what they have done for me. I now know I’ll be safe in this house until I die.”
Framework provides these services to more than 3,500 people every year, offering advisory services that:
- Improve financial management
- Promote practical skills in the home
- Provide training and employment opportunities
- Create links with expanded support networks
The people we help are allocated with a support worker who will identify and overcome any issues that could lead to a person losing their home.
When the people we support feel they no longer need help we can turn our attention to those that do.
