Michelle lost many years of her life and her home to drug and alcohol addiction. She is now living independently and enjoying time with her family.

Michelle, 46, was involved with Framework for more than five years. After making significant progress in hostel accommodation she was permitted to move into specialist move-on accommodation – designed specifically to develop the skills and competencies needed for people to make the final step away from homelessness. She now lives in her own flat and is entirely independent.

"Framework has supported me not just to get myself better but also to prepare for the future. More than anything else they have almost been a family to me; they helped me with my mental health and helped me to be independent again.

She explained: "I was a mum with three children and started taking drugs when they were young. It broke my family totally apart. I was homeless for more than a year. I have lived on the streets and I have lived in squats but I have now been clean from drugs for more than seven years and haven’t had a drink for more than five years.

"Framework has supported me not just to get myself better but also to prepare for the future. More than anything else they have almost been a family to me; they helped me with my mental health and helped me to be independent again.

"At my lowest point I really wasn’t sure how things would turn out. I really do not think that I would still be here if it was not for the support I have received. It has really given me the chance to live again and to start again. My relationship with my children is a lot stronger than it was before and that is down to Framework. Now I am enjoying
