The aim of the research undertaken by Framework is to try and understand the nature of the problems and difficulties faced by vulnerable people and to enable us to develop the most effective solutions.  We want to increase our knowledge about homelessness and accompanying issues such as tenancy sustainment, substance misuse, mental ill-health and criminal justice.  We want to use this knowledge to inform the way we work and to test the impact that our services have. Our approach includes learning from homeless people themselves, and we will also involve service users in undertaking the research with us as interviewers and advisors, where appropriate.

Framework’s research makes a difference to the lives of our service users, improving the quality of our work and sharing good practice. Wherever possible, feedback is to service users, staff, external stakeholders, strategy and policy makers, and wider audiences through articles in journals and professional publications. We also encourage our staff to undertake research in their own projects.

We have worked with Sure Start, Nottingham City Council, POW!, Nottingham Trent, Nottingham, and Sheffield universities.
