Homelessness Prevention Service Nottingham
- Nottingham, 25 Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham, NG7 6NX
The Nottingham Homelessness Prevention Service aims to prevent homelessness by helping people to avoid crisis and live independently. The service works with people in Nottingham City who are either homeless already or faced with the prospect of becoming homeless in the future. Individually assigned support workers visit people in the community and confront issues including debt, worklessness and ill-health.
Their task is to promote independent living by offering clear and constructive advice on debt, help to access education, training and employment opportunities, support to claim benefits, help to run a successful home and help to develop key domestic skills such as cooking and budgeting.
What we are doing
Homelessness Prevention Service Nottingham prevents homelessness and social exclusion by offering bespoke packages of help to people who, for a wide variety of reasons, are at increased risk of losing their home or are currently unable to live independently. The costs of homelessness are enormous, not only to individuals but to society at large, which must pick up the pieces when things go wrong.
Homelessness Prevention Service Nottingham uses its expertise and experience to ensure people do not become homeless as a result of preventable, treatable problems.
