The maximum stay at the service is four months and during that time staff will assist service users in improving their personal skills, such as dealing with finances, cleaning, responsible behaviour and promoting personal hygiene, with the aim of being able to move on to more independent living.
After their four month stay service users are supported to move on to either more specialist accommodation if it’s needed, or on to second stage accommodation, which enables more independent living and where they will receive four weeks of floating support to continue with the good progress they’ve made at Forest Road.

What are we doing
The Forest Road service works with challenging individuals in Nottingham city, many of whom have led chaotic lives and provide staff with a job that is far from easy. Multiple needs have a negative impact on us all – not just on those who are directly affected. The cost to society – to the health service, the criminal justice system and to government is enormous. By addressing and resolving these issues staff are providing a vital preventative service that effectively tackles homelessness and social exclusion.
Referrals to Forest Road are made through Nottingham City Council, c/o The Gateway, Housing Aid, 135 Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham, NG1 1EE. They can be contacted on 0115 915 3000.
