Looking at temporary shelters in disaster areas and comparing the needs in another country with those in Britain.

Children are asked to explore materials that might be used to build a temporary shelter in this country, to make a model and test it against agreed criteria.

What is a home beyond the material possessions it holds? What would be missing if you didn't have a home?

Building on the other work covered, children express their thoughts of home in structured poems.
