Sir Paul Smith plugs The Music Exchange

Global fashion icon and local lad done good Sir Paul Smith has again reiterated his support for Framework’s Music Exchange record shop during a fascinating interview with BBC Radio Nottingham yesterday.

Sir Paul, whose company agreed last year to sell special promotional Music Exchange T-shirt, joined presenter John Holmes to talk music, fashion, Nottingham and everything in between.

The Music Exchange: why not pay a visit

The interview, which you can find here, is well worth an hour or so of anybody’s time and will answer pretty much everything you need to know about Beeston’s most famous son.

The interview starts at about 2 hours in and the Framework bit is near the end, but we can’t urge you enough listen to the whole piece. Great journalism and a really interesting piece about genuinely world famous local figure.

After chatting about his friendship with Van Morrison, Sir Paul gave us a tremendous plug….

……“The great thing about Nottingham is that you’ve got a shop called the Music Exchange. It’s for the Framework charity which helps the homeless. If anybody is into the music we are talking about they have got an amazing vinyl collection and you are going there to help a charity. If you’re in town or on the internet have a look at Music Exchange – it’s a really nice organisation.”

The Music Exchange sells donated CDs, vinyl and DVDs from all genres at affordable prices. The shop also displays signed photos of live artist performances, taken and given to them by David Baird, the renowned Nottingham photographer. Prints are available for sale in the shop.

So, if you are in town in the next few days, why not visit in person at 18 West End Arcade, Chapel Bar, Nottingham, NG1 6JP. Alternatively visit www.themusicexhange.org.uk

Sir Paul has previously blogged about his admiration for the Music Exchange here.
