Paul Smith selling The Music Exchange T-shirts designed by Jon Burgerman

Paul Smith, Nottingham’s famous fashion designer, has become a champion of The Music Exchange, a small independent music shop in Nottingham’s West End Arcade.

The Music Exchange is a social enterprise run by Framework, which provides a safe environment for people to improve their confidence and self esteem by volunteering, while gaining valuable work experience in retail and increasing their independence.

Paul Smith’s love for the shop has grown ever since the  blog he wrote back in November 2010, and now, in April 2011 the successful international artist and designer Jon Burgerman has created a men’s and ladies t-shirt in his avant garde style for The Music Exchange. Paul Smith are selling the t-shirts on their website and all the sales are going straight back to Framework, which is incredibly generous to say the least. T-shirts are available in black with either a blue or pink print for £25.

The support from these designers of stature not only gives The Music Exchange a boost by proving they believe in the enterprise and are willing to help, but also increases the reputation of the venture no end.

The Music Exchange sells donated CDs, vinyl and DVDs from all genres at affordable prices. The shop also displays signed photos of live artist performances, taken and given to them by David Baird, the renowned Nottingham photographer. Prints are available for sale in the shop.
