The Big Snore - places filling fast!
If you’ve been thinking of taking part in this year’s Mansfield Big Snore then NOW is the time to act – before it’s too late. A fantastic 92 people have already signed up and spaces are fast running out for the ever popular sponsored sleep out.
The ninth annual Big Snore, to be held at St Mark’s Church, on Friday, January 25th, will see dozens of volunteer rough sleepers give up their warm beds for a single night in a bid to help homeless people turn their lives around.
Framework is an amazing cause! Having experienced homelessness myself I can fully appreciate what a little funding can do to help... this seems like a great opportunity to give something back.
If last year’s event is anything to go by our participants could well be in for a chilly night, so just why have so many of them decided to take part? Here’s what just a few of our participants have told us so far.....
Rhiannon has a very special reason for taking part. She said: “Framework is an amazing cause! Having experienced homelessness myself I can fully appreciate what a little funding can do to help... this seems like a great opportunity to give something back.”
Sharon explained: “After talking to some friends over Christmas we decided we wanted to do something to help as one of my friends has been talking about the good work you [Framework] does.”
Amelia added: “I do charity work at school and it’s a chance to raise money for people who are less fortunate and could be helped massively by this event. I feel like they deserve better and I want to help them.”
Finally, it’s over to Abbey, who really has it the nail on the head here...“Homelessness is an important issue and it’s something I feel strongly about eradicating. The Big Snore not only raises money but also provides a platform to get people talking and thinking about people living on the streets.”
So then, that’s why they’re taking part. Why not think about your reasons for taking part and sign up today.
