Specsavers staff paint room for residents
Staff at a Nottingham-based company left their usual office surroundings behind as they gave a much-needed lick of paint to an accommodation complex for homeless people.
The kind-hearted volunteers, who work at Specsavers’ Nottingham offices, put their brushes and rollers to excellent use as they transformed the TV room at Framework’s Elizabeth House accommodation in Mansfield Road.
The unusual sabbatical was arranged as part of the organisation’s Community Day initiative, where staff give up one working day every year to help out with community based projects.
Daniel Brindley, accounts payable manager, explained: “We have worked with Framework before so we know what a good cause it is and what good work it does in the community. We heard that this needed doing and thought it was an excellent way for us to give something back. None of us are expert painters but I think we did a pretty good job.”
