Members of the Mansfield Bowling Club played host to service users and staff from Framework on Friday (April 22) morning.

Husband and wife team Michael and Eleanor Lake provided expert tuition to the group during a taster session at the Lammas Leisure Centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The session was organised by Mel Little, manager of Framework of Framework’s Nottinghamshire Adult Support Service, which helps people with learning disabilities and brain injuries to live independently.

Mel explained: “Many of the people we work with have very little access to traditional leisure and learning activities. This means that they can feel very isolated from the communities they live in. Activities like this are all about tackling that sense of isolation by promoting social inclusion. Michael and Eleanor were excellent teachers and we all had a lot of fun on the day.”
