Framework planning to support homeless young people

Framework has been commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council to provide much-needed accommodation and support for homeless young people (aged 16-21) in south Nottinghamshire.

In order to do this we must secure suitable accommodation and have identified a site at 69 – 71 Trent Boulevard, West Bridgford.

We have submitted a planning application to use an existing building to provide accommodation for 14 young people with 24 hour support.

We will be holding a public meeting to discuss these proposals with residents on Wednesday, November 25, at All Hallows Church, Pierrepont Road, between 6pm and 8pm.

Framework Chief Executive Andrew Redfern said: “Framework has a strong track record in managing services for vulnerable people, including youngsters who need support as they take on the responsibilities of adulthood. We place great emphasis on risk management and on fostering good community relations: our aim is that this service and the young people living in it should not be considered a threat but rather a contributor to the local community.

“These young people are keen to make the most of their lives: many have already faced significant challenges with remarkable determination. They need and deserve our support.”

The planning application can be found here and commented on before November 19.
